That’s a really interesting question. I knew it had to come eventually.

First of all, you need a motorcycle license. I recommend you take the Basic Rider’s Course. Google the word abate and your state to find the nearest location.

As far as speed, it won’t be needed in the city that much although you will need enough to keep up with traffic.

The problem is, it will take forever to pay off the scooter from the savings in gas and it probably isn’t worth the effort. Plus the pizza will get cold in the winter.

Perhaps a nice mellow Vespa type scooter would work best. Speed isn’t going to happen though. You may not need that much speed if you don’t go that far and a kid on a Vespa would probably make pretty good tips if you could keep the pizza right. Get some good lights so you get seen at night. My Dad used to deliver newspapers on a Vespa when he was a kid in the late 1940’s. Just need to bolt some kind of padded, insulated suitcase kind of thing to the back to carry the pizza.
